Mud Goddesses!

Ok, most of you guys know that I have always been kinda particular and fussy about Kelly keeping clean and tidy and well, "just so" (i.e. the way Kim wants things!)

... and I have been told a few times since I became a parent that I need to let go, stop sweating the small stuff, and just let her be a "kid"... well, I think this shows that when I let go, I LET GO!

Ok, yes part of me was screaming inside, "AHHH...ICK, ICK!!!", but the better part of me got an incredible kick out of it and some serious giggles! (couple glasses of wine also helped in said, "letting go".) But the girls were having the most fun of all I think... A little mud never hurt anyone, right? (Except for maybe that poor babydoll!)

The BIG Day! Kindergarden!

Well, it was Kelly's first day of Kindergarden today, and I have to say, we both did great, No crying or anything! Kelly got all dressed this morning in her cute new outfit,

donned her new Hello Kitty backpack,
and was very excited to go to her new school (as she has been for WEEKS!)

We had already been to orientation last Friday so we new the lay of the land at Kelly's new school. We arrived, I walked her to the gate where they cut the parents off, we gave each other a big hug & kiss, and off she tootled over to her new kindergarden classroom and into a whole new world...

...Sigh. Ok, I'd admit, I welled up a bit! She (and her teacher) said she had a great day, smiled a lot, met new friends, and seemed to really enjoy herself. I'm always so amazed at how well she rolls with the changes... she makes me so proud!

Twas the Night Before Kindergarden...

... and all through the house excitement was building, for tomorrow was the big day we have been waiting for! And as we nestled all snug in bed to have mommy read Kelly a final story before going to sleep... Kelly decided to read mommy a good night story instead!
