Pony Ride!

Today Kelly attended a birthday party along with her good friend Karlee (Karlee is the 2-1/2 yr old daughter of my friend and fellow Realtor associate, Isabel). The party was at a house in the Vista hills that had a huge yard with tons of play toys including a see-saw, wagon, rocking horse, tricycles, bubble stations, open space to run around and the best part.... a PONY RIDE!

I wasn't sure how she would do as she had never ridden a pony, let alone even been up close to one. But she absolutely loved it! She was all smiles and did not get scared at all. She was a real natural - Guess she takes after her mom :-) Maybe I'll have to get her some riding lessons in a few years like I did!

Somehow They Just KNOW

My dad, Joanne, Johnny, and Gramma Verna all came down for a visit yesterday to celebrate Gramma Verna's birthday. I told Kelly Friday night that they would all be visiting the next day. I was surprised that she remembered the next morning when I asked her, "who is coming to see you today?", she immediately squealed, "Nana & Papa!!!" I reminded her that Gee-Gee was coming too (That is what we got her to call her great-grammas) and Uncle Johnny, which she pronounces, "unga-jonee". She greeted them all at the door and gave each one hugs. During the course of the day, she led each one of them back into her room to proudly show them her toys and also her new "toddler" bed. She told them that "she LOVES her bed!". And taking full advantage of all that attention she climbed up on our fireplace hearth like it was a stage and was dancing around and pretending to jump. We marveled at how, even though she doesn't see them all on a daily basis, especially her Gee-Gee, somehow she just KNOWs they are all important to her, that they are her family. We had a great day!

Playdate with Luke & baby Kyle

Kelly & I trekked out to Escondido last Monday for a playdate with her our friends Jen Hansen and her boys, Luke and new baby Kyle (Jen & I were co-workers in the Mktg Dept at Kontron, we call ourselves Ex-Kons :-) Luke is over 4 years old now and Kyle is just about 5 months, so Kelly sort of falls in between in terms of age. So being honest this was really a Kim & Jenn playdate/catch up visit! But the kids still had a great time together despite the age & gender difference. Luke seemed to relish in showing Kelly all his toys and how to play with them :-) I thought Kelly might take more interest in the baby, and although she liked the baby very much, she just thought everything about Luke was COOL and followed him around like a little puppy!. She couldn't stop talking about him for a couple days.... Hmmm!
