I Give You the 2-3 Yr Old Graduating Class of 2008!

This is Kelly's "2-3 year old" class/friends at Great Beginnings Daycare & Preschool. Most of this gang she has been with since the "infant/pre-2-yr-old" room. They did an 8-week summer camp program where they had water play every week, got visits from the fire fighters & a big fire truck, visits from police officers and got to hear them turn the siren on, had talent shows, hula dancing, dinasaur egg hunts, bug hunts, put on a circus, all kinds of really fun stuff! They have been slowly moving them all up to the 3-4 year old class where they will start the fall program and focus a bit more on pre-school "academics"...Kelly gets moved into this class next week (we've been a little delayed due to not being fully potty trained yet, but she's really close, and they are willing to work w/her!!). She will continue to go 3 days/week this year for as long as Gary & I can handle that schedule. We're really proud of her progress and look forward to her telling us all the fun and wonderful things she is learning and doing every day!

Play Date with Uncle Johnny

I had to show houses in Temecula one Saturday a few weeks ago and brought Kelly up to spend the day at her Nana & Papa's while I was out working. Her Uncle Johnny was there to help babysit and ended up spending the whole day with her splashing, sliding and playing in her cute new pool! They had a BLAST together. Kelly loves, loves, LOVES her Uncle Johnny!

Day at the Del Mar Races

The Del Mar Races are have been going on these past few weeks, and they have "family day" every Sunday at the inside of the track. They have radio stations with game booths, music, jumpies, face-painting, pony rides, trampolines, you name it! Its really a pretty cool set up and we had a really nice day just having fun as a family and betting on the ponies at the same time!

This was Kelly's second time on a pony. She was not as confident as the first time, but she still seemed to like it, especially petting the pony afterwards!
She didn't want the tatoo on her face, but opted for a "Dora the Explorer" tatoo on her hand where she could admire it all day!

Uncle Johnny & Cousin Gina's Turn!

In late July, we gathered at Nana & Papa's for a group birthday celebration for Johnny (who turned 20!) and cousin Gina (don't ask!). Kelly thought it was STILL her birthday too and had fun leading the singing of happy birthday, helping blow out the candles, and assisting with the opening of presents. This birthday thing is GREAT!

Birthday Celebration at Daycare

Ok, we are going back in time a few weeks here, but I just got these photos developed from Kelly's daycare from her actual birthday (Yes, I said developed! I give them a disposable camera to keep in her bin so they can snap photos of her & the kids every now & then).

I think she was the center of attention that day with all her little friends & her teachers (Miss Jill and Miss Shanna)... and I think she enjoyed it very much!

Mommy Juice

I have tried hard to limit sugar for Kelly for as long as possible. And I think I’ve done pretty well considering its EVERYWHERE you turn! Instead of juice, I have always given her very diluted crystal light. But I knew it was only a matter a time before she would get a taste of the real stuff, love it and want it. After all, she is my kid!

She had a Capri sun not long ago, and from then on only wanted her, “juice bag” instead of the sippy with watered down crystal light (gee, go figure!). Then I discovered a wonderful little product, also made by Capri Sun, called “Roarin’ Waters” which is basically flavored water with no sugar (thank you Kathy!), so I’ve been getting those and she loves them.

So, one day she says to me, “I want a mommy juice”
Well, this caught me a bit off guard as I had no idea what she was talking about at first, and my brain sort of went in some weird directions with that...
Me: “a WHAT??”
Kelly: “a MOMMY juice”, and points to the refrigerator.

I slowly figure that she must be talking about a "juice bag", so I fetch one, bring it back to her, and she says, “Noooo mommy. This is a DADDY juice!! I want a MOMMY juice.”

It took me another minute to figure out what the heck she meant… then I looked at the packaging…

Wow, do we really look like that! HA-HA! And since daddy still also buys the regular Capri Suns (much to mom's dismay), she gets her hands on those as well sometimes and now calls those "James juice" and "Willie Juice"...
